LOS ANGELES — The Ninth Circuit upheld a nearly $100 million forfeiture judgment against convicted fraudster Julian Omidi and his company Surgery Center Management, which pulled off the “1-800-GET-THIN” scheme that encouraged consultants to fudge patient biometrics and falsify sleep apnea studies to get insurers to approve reimbursements for Lap-Band surgeries and “tummy tuck” procedures.
