MANHATTAN (CN) – Federal prosecutors say an attorney at a national bank conspired with lawyers at Jenkens & Gilchrist to create $430 million in fraudulent tax losses, helping clients evade $100 million in taxes. John B. Ohle III called the scam a “Hedge Option Monetization of Economic Remainder,” or HOMER, prosecutors say.
