$54 Million Missing Pants Lawsuit Back in DC Court

WASHINGTON (CN) – “This is not a case about a pair of suit pants,” a former administrative law judge told the D.C. Court of Appeals in an attempt to revive his $54 million claim against a dry cleaner over a missing pair of pants.     Roy J. Pearson tried to convince the court that he deserves the money because he was defrauded by a sign in Custom Cleaners that said “Satisfaction Guaranteed.”     “There is an unconditional guarantee,” he argued.     He sued the shop in 2005, claiming owners Jim Nam Chung and Soo Chung lost a pair of pants from a $1,100 suit, and then tried to give him the wrong pants.     The appeals court is expected to rule in several months.
