6th Circuit

ATTORNEY FEES – A Cincinnati law firm was awarded more than $1.7 million in attorney fees, an amount the defendant shipbuilders claimed was excessive. Plaintiffs claimed it was unjustifiably low. The 6th Circuit found that the district court properly calculated the attorney fees at a reasonable $200 hourly rate, which is slightly below the 2003 Michigan Bar survey. See ruling.
