ARBITRATION, SANCTIONS – The 7th Circuit stayed a lawsuit accusing the Great Gatsby’s Auction Gallery of delivering items that did not match the descriptions in the auction catalog. Judge Bauer stayed the case pending arbitration after Gatsby sought to dismiss the customer’s complaint on the basis of a binding arbitration clause in the auction agreement. The circuit said it lacks jurisdiction to review the award of sanctions against Halim’s counsel.
