SAN FRANCISCO — A federal judge granted preliminary approval to a class action settlement in which Disney, Viacom, and others agreed to limit advertising targeting children in thousands of mobile app games to settle claims they collect and track the personal information of children and sell it to third parties for targeted advertising without parental consent.
