Air Safety

WASHINGTON (CN) – Fuel tank explosions and multiple-engine flameouts during flight are two of the problems operators of certain Boeing models must fix, according to Federal Aviation Administration airworthiness directives.     The fuel tank may explode in certain 747s, and certain of them may go off the runway during landing; certain 707s, 720s, 720Bs, and 727s may have multi-engine flameout requiring forced landings; and the outside of certain 737s may crack, causing the plane to lose cabin pressure.     Click the document icon on the front page for details and other new regulations.
