Aircraft Oxygen Cylinders

WASHINGTON (CN) – Certain aircraft oxygen reserve cylinders can explode during flight and create a fire hazard, the Federal Aviation Administration warns.The cylinders are Intertechnique aluminum alloy oxygen cylinders manufactured by Societe Metallurgique de Gerzat SAS, and must be removed from aircraft before further flight. The FAA states that these oxygen cylinders are installed on Model Airbus 300 series; Pilatus P-6; Dassault Aviation Mystere-Falcon 20, Falcon 50, Falcon 200, and Falcon 900 airplanes; and Eurocopter AS350 and Eurocopter SA315 helicopters, and may be installed on other aircraft.
