Assaulted student wins judgment

RALEIGH, N.C. — A former high school student secured default judgment against his teacher, who was criminally charged with engaging in inappropriate sexual behavior with students, including the litigant. The school board’s superintendent and the school’s former principal, however, have been dismissed from the suit without prejudice despite the student’s claims that teachers did not intervene when his mother reported the teacher’s conduct.
