Dave Byrnes is a forklift-certified reporter currently based in his home city of Chicago. Since 2014 he has worked for news outlets in Chicago, the Chicago suburbs and in Pierre, South Dakota, with stretches of working as a trucking dockworker, bartender and English tutor in between. He covers the daily river of lawsuits flowing through Cook County, and writes regular stories on developments in politics, transportation and labor throughout Chicago and the larger Midwest.
