AvelNO! protest billboards

RENO — Avelo Airlines failed to convince a federal judge to issue a preliminary injunction to stop New Hampshire lawmaker Seth Miller and his company from displaying billboards protesting the airline’s deportation flights for the Trump administration. The airline argued that Smith used its trademark without permission by displaying “AvelNO!” on the billboards, but the Nevada judge said that the marks are not being used in connection to goods or services, so Avelo is unlikely to succeed on its infringement claim.
