Bad-Faith Sanctions

The Ninth Circuit on Thursday <a href="http://cdn.ca9.uscourts.gov/datastore/opinions/2017/06/08/12-17718.pdf"><strong>struck down</strong></a> $2.7 million in bad-faith sanctions against Goodyear – involving discovery fraud and defective tires – following the Supreme Court’s <a href="http://www.courthousenews.com/supreme-court-clarifies-civil-sanctions-rules/">ruling</a> in April that sanctions must be limited to only fees incurred by the injured party because of the misconduct.
