Big beef settlements

MINNEAPOLIS — A federal court in Minnesota granted a class of consumers’ motion for final approval of settlement agreements with Cargill and Tyson over their beef products. The court finds the settlement agreements are fair and approves the monetary relief, which totals $87.5 million, as well as the more than $38.3 million in attorney fees and court costs. Only two members of the class objected to the settlements out of the likely millions of buyers involved.
