Calif. Courts Of Appeal

ATTORNEY FEES, EMPLOYMENT – The jury found in a special verdict form that San Francisco had an official policy of denying white male employees promotions at the San Francisco International Airport. In a second challenge to attorney fees, the appeals court found that the fee award is not an abuse of discretion, with the exception of fees for work performed in the prior appeal on the issue of attorney fees. See ruling.            ATTORNEY FEES, CONTRACT – Plaintiff’s eviction action against Risorante Ferrantelli alleged that the lessee did not have the proper permits to erect an outdoor tent and fire pit in a patio dining area. The appeals court found that the lessee was improperly awarded attorney fees because the contract action had been voluntarily dismissed. Affirmed as modified. See ruling.
