Calif. Courts Of Appeal

EMPLOYMENT, ATTORNEY FEES – A California appeals court upheld a jury finding that Southwest Dealer Services fired Casella for telling his supervisor that the company’s car salesmen were inflating monthly payment estimates in order to secure the sales of aftermarket products from car buyers. Attorney fees were not available under Casella’s employment agreement, which contemplated a limitation on fees to parties that sought the enforcement of the agreement. See ruling.
