Class Action Against New York's Largest HMO

MANHATTAN (CN) – A federal class action claims HIP Network Services, the largest HMO in New York state, delays payments to doctors or doesn’t pay them at all. The lead plaintiff claims HIP forced her to submit repeated claims for the same services, failed to pay any of them, but claimed to have paid her twice. She says “hundreds, if not thousands” of doctors have been affected.     Dr. Christine Nayal days HIP is running “a simple frustrating con: in violation of specifically applicable laws, HIP intentionally delays payment to health care providers, causing damages to both the health care providers and their patients.     The class is represented by Craig Lanza with Balestriere Lanza.
