FORT WORTH (CN) – A class action accuses the Texas Department of Insurance Division of Workers’ Compensation of arbitrarily denying benefits, delaying hearings, and shuttling claimants from doctor to doctor in search of the cheapest diagnosis possible. Six named plaintiffs sued in Tarrant County Court. Plaintiffs want the state’s alleged abuses enjoined and a protective order against retaliation. They are represented by Joan Durkin of Hurst, Texas.
