Confederate statute to stay

RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina Court of Appeals upheld the trial court’s ruling in favor of the county that was sued by the NAACP for refusing to remove a Confederate statue in front of the courthouse. The county leaders lack authority, due to the state’s Monument Protection Law, to remove the statue.
