Conviction upheld for Kristin Smart’s killer

VENTURA, Calif. — A California appeals court upheld the conviction of Paul Flores, the man convicted of killing Cal Poly San Luis Obispo student Kristin Smart over Memorial Day weekend in 1996. An anxious juror had credibly testified that she was capable of remaining unbiased while considering the evidence, evidence of uncharged rapes was admissible and testimony that Smart may have been drugged at the time was also admissible.
