Dangerous infant formula

CHICAGO — An Illinois federal court denied summary judgment to Mead Johnson & Company in a wrongful death and product liability lawsuit alleging its Enfamil Premature Formula caused a prematurely born infant to develop necrotizing enterocolitis. Factual disputes remain over whether the company failed to adequately warn doctors and parents about the formula’s risks and whether a safer alternative formulation was feasible.
