Deputies waited instead of helping

SACRAMENTO — A federal court in California allows a family to pursue an unreasonable medical care claim against three deputies for waiting too long to render aid to a man they fatally shot despite knowing he was suffering from a mental disability or mental health crisis. Their Monell claims against Placer County and it’s sheriff’s office, however, are dismissed for failure to allege a pattern of similar constitutional violations.
