Extreme Fighter Accused Of Stiffing Promoter|After Charity Event For Wounded Soldiers

LAS VEGAS (CN) – Ultimate Fighting champion Randy Couture is accused of stiffing a production company of more than $122,000 after it organized his fund-raiser to benefit wounded soldiers.     Toast of New York organized the May 27 red-carpet event, “Operation Extreme Sacrifice,” at Couture’s new training facility in Las Vegas. But the company says Couture paid it only $52,660 of its promised $174,685 fee because Couture “failed to raise (money) to pay for the costs of producing the event.”     Couture, a mixed martial arts fighter, held the heavyweight and light heavyweight titles in that sport at the same time. Also named as defendant is his Xtreme Couture GI Foundation.     The Toast of New York wants its money. It is represented in Clark County Court by Avece Higbee with Marquis Aurbach.
