Fight over DHS parole program will remain in South Texas

VICTORIA, Texas — A federal court in Texas denied the federal government’s motion to transfer 21 states’ challenge to the Department of Homeland Security’s parole program for Cuban, Haitian, Nicaraguan and Venezuelan nationals. Previously and repeatedly in the litigation, Department of Justice attorneys said they expected a fair and impartial trial in the court, even though they also argued the venue was chosen by the states because the judge would be biased in their favor.
