WASHINGTON (CN) – The Commerce Department’s annual survey for direct investment abroad, which obtains financial and operating data for overall operations of U.S. parent companies and their foreign affiliates, will apply to banks as of Jan. 16. The department’s Economic Analysis Bureau will require that U.S. parent companies that are banks, foreign affiliates of bank parents, and bank foreign affiliates of nonbank parents fill out the sample international services survey, BE-11. Forms and instructions will be changed to allow for bank data.
