(CN) – An Iranian group did not have the opportunity to challenge its inclusion on a list of terrorist organizations, the European Court of First Instance ruled.      The European Council froze the funds of the People’s Mohajedin Organization of Iran for the third time in an attempt to combat terrorism. On the two previous occasions, the Court reversed for lack of reasoning or lack of a judgment of an official state authority.     In this case, the Council cited new information that would justify keeping the PMOI on the European Community’s list of terrorist organizations. The Court reversed the decision on Dec. 4, one day after the hearing.     “This one-day period is the quickest the Court has ever delivered its judgment following the hearing,” the judges noted.     Because the Council did not share the new information with the People’s Mohajedin, the court ruled, “the contested decision was adopted in breach of the PMOI’s rights of defense.”
