LinkedIn Accused of Patent Infringement

WILMINGTON, Del. (CN) – AvMarkets, an aviation service and technology company, claims LinkedIn violates a patent on online sales and marketing.     AvMarkets, a privately held company based in Pittsburgh, claims LinkedIn violates its patent on a “Method for Generating Increased Numbers of Leads Via the Internet.”     In its federal complaint, AvMarkets claims the infringement occurs on a LinkedIn group called “Buyers and Sellers of Aircraft Spare Parts from all over the World.”     Delaware-based LinkedIn claims to be the world’s largest professional network, with 200 million members in 200 countries and territories around the world.     AvMarkets seeks an injunction, damages and royalties.     Its lead counsel is George Pazuniak, of Wilmington.
