ST. LOUIS (CN) – A man admitted blackmailing a medical professional about a sexual encounter the professional had through Craigslist. Ethan Mikeal Avalos, 27, pleaded guilty one federal county of felony extortion by interstate communications. Avalos threatened the medical professional with exposing that the victim had had paid sexual encounters with a woman named Brittany, whom he contacted through Craigslist. The victim paid Avalos $8,000. Avalos faces up to 2 years in prison and $250,000 in fines at his Sept. 16 sentencing.
