Masterpiece Cakeshop in court again

DENVER — Jack Phillips, the artist at Denver’s Masterpiece Cakeshop, appealed a Colorado judge’s ruling that found the Christian baker violated a trans woman’s civil rights when he refused to make her a cake celebrating her gender transition. The question before the Colorado Supreme Court concerns both procedural issues as well as whether his decision not to make the cake constituted transgender-status discrimination or is permitted by the First Amendment.
