(CN) – President Obama will nominate Federal Appeals Court Judge Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court seat being vacated by Justice David Souter, wire services are reporting. Sotomayor, 54, will be the first Latino to serve on the Supreme Court, if the Senate approves her nomination. The president is expected to announce the nomination at a morning news conference.
