WASHINGTON (CN) – The FAA is considering revising its prohibition on reimbursement for company aircraft costs when it is used for routine personal travel by senior company officials. The Federal Aviation Administration reasons that vacation trips could be cancelled at the last moment, for business reasons, and that it may be more efficient to have the company plane available than it would be to pay fees for cancelling commercial flights. If a company wishes to use this interpretation, it should maintain a list of those whose position routinely requires quick changes in personal travel plans, according to the agency.
