OAKLAND, Calif. — A federal court in California mostly dismissed a suit alleging United Behavioral Health deprives providers of substance abuse treatment and mental health care reimbursements because it makes coverage and level of care determinations based on guidelines that use “actuarial predictability rather than generally accepted standards of medical care.” Plaintiffs’ breach of contract claims survive, and they may amend their fraud-based claims.
