Rohm & Haas Caused Cancers, Say Survivors

PHILADELPHIA (CN) – Three employee deaths have resulted from brain cancer caused by exposure to chemicals at Rohm and Haas Co., according to a set of complaints in Philadelphia, that say the company lied over workplace conditions and conducted a study that was “a sham designed to hide the truth about the number of brain cancer cases.”     Dr. Irving Adler was one of four Rohm and Haas Co. employees who died, victims of a cancer cluster of glioblastoma multiforme, a brain cancer caused by exposure to chemicals at Rohm and Haas’ Spring House facility, his estate claims in state court. Two other employees, or their survivors, filed separate, similar claims, and accuse the company of lying about carcinogens in its workplace, and conducting a bogus “epidemiological study” that was “a fraud and a sham designed to hide the truth about the number of brain cancer cases and the causes of brain cancer among its workers.”
