SEATTLE (CN) – The Seattle Seahawks have hit a hurdle in their attempt to add “Boom” to their list of trademarks, which include “Legion of Boom” and “Spirit of 12.” The Super Bowl-bound Seahawks filed a federal trademark application for “Boom” in April 2014. The application was suspended in December because another filing to trademark the word preceded the Seahawks’. The patent office will conduct periodic checks to see if the mark “Boom” has been registered or abandoned, but for now the team can’t own the word. The application was filed by Foster Pepper in Seattle.
