LOS ANGELES (CN) – Stryker Corporation and Alliant Enterprises paid the United States $1.05 million to resolve a whistle-blower lawsuit accusing them of failing to disclose information about projected government sales, to duck scrutiny of a government contract, federal prosecutors said. A federal judge unsealed and dismissed the case on March 13, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. The two companies overcharged the Department of Veterans Affairs for medical equipment. Stryker paid Uncle Sam $911,219 and Alliant paid $151,215, according to the U.S. attorney. Neither company admitted it had done anything wrong.
