CLAYTON, Mo. (CN) – Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, the Metropolitan Taxicab Commission and Whelan Security Co. acted beyond their authority by ticketing Trans Express taxicabs, the cab company claims in St. Louis County Court. Trans Express says the Commission’s “Vehicle for Hire Code” prohibits the Commission from regulating airport taxicabs. It claims the defendants have issued numerous citations for soliciting violations. Trans Express seeks an injunction prohibiting the defendants from regulating airport taxicabs as to parking, circulation, cab stands or the payment by airport taxicabs for the use of airport facilities. It is represented by J. Steven Erickson of St. Louis.
