Tick Of The Clock Costs Man|$13.5 Million Lottery Prize

MONTREAL (CN) – A man sued the Societe Des Loteries Du Quebec for $13.5 million, claiming he has one of two winning tickets for a $27 million prize. Joel Ifergan says he bought the ticket at 8:59 p.m. – 1 minute before the deadline – and that the Lottery office knows it. Ifergan claims in Superior Court that the law states the ticket must have been purchased before 9 p.m. – not that it must be processed by the defendant’s main computer by that time.
