TikTok beats nuisance claims

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A New York federal court dismissed a public nuisance class action against TikTok’s parent company alleging the platform encourages young students to perform disruptive and sometimes violent challenges to share online. The plaintiff, a mother, based her claims for damages on the theory that taxpayers will need to pay more for stronger security at schools, and the court dismisses this as pure conjecture.
