Tribal Recognition

<p>A federal court in Washington <strong><a href="http://www.courthousenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/tribalrecognition.pdf">granted</a></strong> summary judgment to the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe on its challenge to the Secretary of the Interior’s decision determining that the tribe did not meet the definitions of “Indian” in the Indian Reorganization Act. The decision was “arbitrary, capricious, an abuse of discretion, and contrary to law.”</p>
