U.S. gross domestic product grew amidst Japanese and euro-area losses. In the second quarter of 2008, U.S. GDP climbed 0.7% and Japanese GDP fell by the same amount, as compared to the previous quarter. During the same period, the region using the euro suffered a 0.2% decline with Germany and Ireland falling the hardest, at 0.5%, and Slovenia growing the fastest, with its 0.9% GDP jump.
