CHICAGO – A U.S. Army veteran and psychiatric patient committed suicide by lying down on train tracks after the Jesse Brown VA Hospital in Chicago didn’t return his phone calls for 10 days, the veteran’s widow claims in an $18 million federal lawsuit.

The plaintiff is Mindy Murillo as administrator of the estate of Thomas M. Young, deceased, and the defendant is the United States of America.
