Voice of America staffers sue over shutdown

MANHATTAN — A group of journalists and media unions say the Trump administration violated their First Amendment rights by shutting down Voice of America, an editorially independent government-funded media outlet. The journalists accuse the government of disregarding the laws concerning the outlet's governance and say the Trump administration views the reporting to be inconsistent with its "favored viewpoint and political agenda."
