‘Volunteer’ coaches seek compensation

FRESNO, Calif. — The NCAA may not seal an internal memo or email chain discussing policy changes, ruled a California federal court, in response to discovery requests in this antitrust class action over a since-abandoned NCAA rule that kept volunteer coaches from getting paid. The suing coaches argue they worked similar hours and shared duties with paid coaches, so they seek compensation for past economic harm.
