Worker Says He Had to Beg to Keep Job

LAS VEGAS (CN) – A black driver says he was forced to get on his hands and knees and beg to keep his job, and that his white boss chucked his paycheck at him while he knelt.     Sydney Robinson claims on Jan. 15, 2008, his boss at Shack-Findlay Automotive, Michael Austin, said he had received a customer complaint about Robinson’s driving.     Robinson says Austin then ordered him to beg for his job in an area visible to co-workers. Although he had knee problems, Robinson says he reluctantly agreed to beg for his job back. Austin threw his paycheck on the ground while he was kneeling, Robinson says.     Robinson seeks damages for discrimination and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He is represented in Clark County Court by Robert Spretnak.
