BRONX (CN) – A woman who was trapped in midair over the Bronx Zoo for more than 5 hours on a “Skyfari” cable car sued the City of New York, the zoo and the Wildlife Conservation society for negligence and personal injuries. Mary Campbell claims that a mechanical failure on July 9, 2008, left her suspended over the zoo for five and a half hours. She claims in Bronx County Court the zoo did not appreciate “the risks of operating the ride in inclement weather” – an electrical storm. Campbell says she was hospitalized with injuries to “her head, body, limbs and nervous system.” She is represented by Alice Kupferberg.
